Actuation Lab welcome two engineering interns for the summer

Our Mission: become the UK’s foremost innovator in industrial hardware by building a company that attracts and nurtures world-class talent.

To live up to that mission, we are trying to start the nurturing process early, and last month welcomed Sara and James into the team as summer interns! Both Sara and James are currently going through the often-gruelling Aerospace Engineering course at the University of Bristol. They have joined us for two months of startup experience, which includes solving real-world problems currently faced in our product development process.

As pictured here conducting the epic handover of our most powerful 3D printer, affectionately called “Brienne”, Matt Hollis is taking on the role of internship programme manager, ensuring that Sara and James have a valuable time and are exposed to all areas of the company.

CEO Simon Bates said: “It’s a privilege to be able to offer internships this year with the support of the University of Bristol SME internship scheme. I’m also really grateful to Matt and the engineering team who have not hesitated to bring Sara and James into the thick of what we do and pass on their knowledge and enthusiasm for working here.”

The University of Bristol careers service supports SMEs in matching with ambitious interns each summer, providing funding and supporting recruitment. Feel free to reach out to us or directly to the University for further information.
