Actuation Lab attended Hyvolution Paris 2024

Actuation Lab attended this year’s absolutely vibrant and buzzing Hyvolution Paris 2024, showcasing the cutting-edge present and future of hydrogen in the region. We were part of the UK delegation and to be invited by the British Embassy Paris, to participate in engaging sessions with industry leaders such as Air LiquideEDF Hynamics and TotalEnergies.

Here are some key highlights from the event:

🌟France is poised to emerge as a key player in hydrogen technology, with impressive advancements, particularly in hydrogen production. This progress is a testament to the collaborative efforts of regional players, supported by a robust ecosystem encompassing academia, R&D facilities, and platforms like France Hydrogène.

🌟Challenges remain, notably the cost of electricity in Western Europe, which affects the price competitiveness of local green hydrogen production. With production costs averaging €5-€8/kg compared to €1.5-€3/kg in the MENA region, strategies may include import dependency, whether in the form of hydrogen or LOHC.

🌟The need for a national hydrogen infrastructure is evident to fully decarbonize hard-to-electrify sectors. However, regional hydrogen production and consumption show promising signs, instilling confidence in both private and public sectors to accelerate financial investment decisions due to local demands.

At the event, we discussed the role of Actuation Lab’s stemless Dragonfly Valve technology in ensuring safe flow of hydrogen.
