Is Throwback Thursday still a thing?

Thinking about our University of Bristol origins in the Queen’s Building last week, we realised that it is ten years this week since the founders of Actuation Lab Simon Bates, Michael Dicker and Tom Llewellyn-Jones first met.

We managed to dig up this low-res image (were cameras really that bad?) taken on day one of starting PhDs together at the Bristol Composites Institute, with the rest of the 2012 cohort and CDT director Professor Paul Weaver, taken on the front steps of the Faculty of Engineering.

We hope everyone in this photo is doing great, while we look forward to another productive decade doing engineering together!
